You should have made a video on how to install or replace a disconnect, explaining line side, load side,double pole breaker, etc. I was bored watching you grunt and groan. Explaining your thought process as you installed each wire would have kept us more invested. I have heard of the landlord removing the disconnect to encourage the tenants to leave. Guess he forgot to put it back.

1/4 inch copper tube, deburred and slightly swaged, works very well for me to remove boards from the stand-off posts. Great video, Curtis.

A year later and there are some good alternatives to the overpriced OEM motors. This is a non-communicating ECM and could easily be replaced by MARS ECM 10856 / 10857 for a fraction of the Trane price.

12 subcool and 11 superheat before clean 10 subcool and 0 superheat after indoor coil clean overcharged, but i dont think outdoor coil clean would make any difference

That coil cleaner is useless, it's just foamy soap. . Buy some decent stuff that actually gets the dirt out. Get both coils properly clean, upgrade or repair the ducting then pull the charge and weigh it back in..

Hey HVAC Guy! I have a question for you. Can a double breaker auxiliary heat strip kit be wired using one breaker or one side of the heat strip, instead of both breakers.

Yip as a mechanic allways check your parts. In fact take pictures and make sure they match before you go back to the jobsite. Saves your paycheck everytime.

Things you did i dont agree with: 1. trying to convince the lady wrong/dirty ductwork cant cause freezing 2. Saying you see no issue with pressure reading with a negative SH 3. Not testing blower windings Just friendly criticism, no disrespect intended

That condenser fan motor is bad. It was hot, did not spin freely and sounded like crap!!! The age of that unit should make little difference in the expected delta temperature. Yes, the need to keep it running continually when it is that hot outside is best.

in this situation wouldn't it make sense to put filter inside package unit instead of at grill - protect the coil in case of return duct leakage.

Replace the motor I would think it ran hot for awhile. But who knows did it keep going off on over load??

What’s the best way to fix that leak? Hit the hole with your torches and solder, or cut put a coupling and braze it or are there kits?

that poor coil still looks dirty afte rbeing cleane dI had a rheem package unit i eventually was able to get rid of and get a regular split unit with a heat and a gas furnace

The beginning conditions at 3:20 are ridiculous once you see the condition of the indoor Coil at 8:23. That amount if blockage should make the coil freeze up. The ending low superheat at 14:56 indicates that the metering device must be an orifice. It's likely that someone previously overcharged the system to address a persistent icing issue due to very low airflow. Therefore, it's essential to check the external static pressures. Sealing the return might further reduce airflow. It's also highly probable that the system is too large for the home. A smaller, properly sized unit might be a better match for the current ductwork.

There's gotta be a rat living in that duct work. That was nasty. I'm surprised a coil that dirty didn't effect the pressures too much. You should have told that lady that closing doors isn't going to keep the critters out. Rats can squeeze into wherever they want. Give her a good spook. lol

Some critters for sure, she even said so. I never heard of keeping the doors closed because of varmints before. There was something rattling in that compressor that did stop, weird, but we have all heard some weird stuff in units and compressors before. It has got to be cooling much better now. As someone has stated before, there sure are lots of package units in your area. Nice job

Ninety five degrees out and my condenser stopped cooling. Had to call a service tech because the parts store didn’t have a run capacitor. I was shocked at $120 repair. The service tech didn’t have the exact part, so was going to bend and drill the hanger to install it; however, I gave him a cable tie to secure it instead. I ordered a spare, original capacitor for $10 from Amazon.

why would my superheat drop when it was normal before the clean?
